Dr. Mumtaz Bashir is a founding member of U & M Family EyeCare.  She graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry with a Doctorate of Optometry Degree in 2000.  Dr. Bashir grew up in California where is graduated with honors from the University of California with a B.A in Psychobiology.  She also holds a B.S. in Visual Sciences from the Illinois College of Optometry.  Dr. Bashir has over 20 years of experience in the diagnosis, management and treatment of conditions of the human eye and visual system.  She has extensive experience in refractive surgery, pediatric optometry, specialty contact lens fits (including RGPs, Multifocals, Torics, Monovision) and primary care optometry.   Dr. Bashir has been calling Atlanta home for many years and resides with her husband Dr. Ishaque and 4 children.  She spends a lot of her free time involved in various community service organizations, but is especially involved in helping charities that support and mentor women and children.  In her spare time she enjoys cooking, traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends.
