Dr. Umar Ishaque is the driving force behind U & M Family Eyecare. Dr. Ishaque is a native of Montreal, Quebec, Canada but proudly makes his home in Duluth, Georgia with his wife Dr. Mumtaz Bashir, and his four children. Dr. Ishaque attended McGill University, (Montreal, Quebec) where he majored in Physiology. He then attended Tulane University, New Orleans, LA where he obtained a Masters in Public Health. He then attended Indiana University School of Optometry where he excelled in ocular disease. After graduation Dr. Ishaque moved to Georgia and started up the practice know as U & M Family Eyecare. Dr. Ishaque is a member in good standing with the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric association. He is actively involved with the GOA and sits on their Corporate Committee. Dr. Ishaque is honored to be entrusted with the visual health of the citizens of Georgia and practices with the philosophy that every patient needs to be treated with the best eye experience they have ever had. Dr. Ishaque is fluent in Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and French. His hobbies include traveling, camping, volunteering with Boy Scouts of America and other organizations, movies and most importantly spending as much free-time as possible with his family.
